Chris Thompson

Chris comes from a family of Drummers. His father and brothers all "hit them skins".

Chris started drumming at the age of 10 and won 1st prize in the Billy Hyde Drummers comp' associated with Drum Craft. Chris spent six years touring the world playing drums for the Royal Australian Navy Band.

Returning to Australia he joined the well known Sydney showband The Enormous Horns and continued to perform with them for 10 years. In this time he met Guy Chapman and Douglass Bishop and formed the original Sydney band Twang. Together they recorded and released the album Highly Strung And Ready To Twang.

After leaving the Enormous Horns Chris worked as a session player and continued with freelance live performances, these included touring with Col Joy, Judy Stone and Little Pattie the Nevilles and also a stint with Chubby Checker.

More recently Chris was behind the Drums for Long Way To The Top Australian Tour. Chris has played with Tequila Sunrise and various other Top 40 bands. He now joins The Bob Dylan Revue as the ever persistent engine room.
